Northpoint Shopping Centre: This was the only shopping mall to be found in Yishun. It was situated next to the Yishun MRT Station and in 2010 an expansion was completed that comprised a new building that linked to the main shopping area. The building was constructed on a parcel of land found next to the mall. This expansion widened Northpoint Shopping Centre’s size and held more shops and, on its top most floor, a new library. In 1992 the shopping mall was opened to the public and was the first modernized suburban shopping centre situated in major housing estate. In the present, all housing estates now feature a standard suburban mall near High Park Residences.
